MFA Annual Celebration 2026:
Growing From Forestry's Deep Roots

Join us at Treetops Resort on October 2 & 3!

MFA, in partnership with Michigan Tree Farm, welcomes everyone to join our celebration of forests. Come learn about Michigan’s forest heritage, share current stories about how we all enjoy our forests today, and what might be in store for the future.

We would love to see you there!

The Annual Celebration is our largest event of the year. Tentative activities include:

  • Panel discussion on "Prescribed Fire on the Landscape, Then and Now", with representatives from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Michigan Prescribed Fire Council
  • Concurrent sessions, with speakers from American Chestnuts of Michigan, Northern Institute of Applied Climate Science, and others
  • Friday lunch and dinner, and Saturday breakfast
  • Awards ceremony, silent auction, and chainsaw giveaway
  • Michigan Forest Association board and member meetings
  • Interactive stations on history of forestry in Michigan and prescribed fire tools

And so much more!

Karen Thurlow and Madelyn Kleitch enjoy time together out in the woods of Coleman, MI. Madelyn was also the lucky winner of last year's chainsaw giveaway!

This event is only possible with your support!

Our Annual Celebration is major lift between MFA, American Tree Farm System (ATFS) Michigan Committee, and supporters like YOU! We appreciate any monetary and tangible contributions to make this possible. If you're interested in supporting the Annual Celebration, please review the options below.

Sponsorships

Each year we rely on sponsorships from generous individuals and businesses interested in supporting private forestry in Michigan. Funds raised help us provide affordable registration costs for attendees and their families; support for speakers, panelists, and field tour leaders to participate; and most of all, an overall unforgettable and enjoyable experience for all who attend! Donations

In addition to soliciting monetary sponsorships, we are collecting donated items to offer a Bucket Raffle for interested attendees. This is a great way to highlight your organization or business while also fundraising for MFA and our work. Please consider donating an item or service, and we will spotlight you for your donation to attendees. You can email our Grant Accountant Melissa Franquist to discuss donations.
