A Tree Planting Initiative for Private Landowners of Michigan

Michigan Forest Association (MFA) is partnering with conservation districts across the state to build community and conduct better tree plantings. Conservation districts annually hold seedling sales as a fundraiser for their organization but also as a means of supporting local private landowners meet their land management goals. The Neighbor Network aims to amplify these efforts by:

• Connecting private landowners to assist each other with forest management projects, mainly tree plantings.
• Educating communities on better tree planting practices to increase seedling survivability on the landscape.
• Getting more trees planted, and therefore more forest habitat restored across Michigan.
• Providing tools, funding, and resources to complete tree planting projects, through partner organizations and programs.
• Building resilient communities of Neighbors who know how to rely on and support one another.
