    Fall Field Day: Forest Stand Improvement and Brush Management w/Hunters Land Management LLC

    Please join us for a Field Day at the HLM Test Property in Coleman, MI. This field day will be led by Hunter Fodor of Hunters Land Management LLC to help you better understand the following topics: tools for forest stand improvement (FSI), brush management (i.e., invasive species control), build a dabber bar, and general field touring and networking opportunities. Target Audience: Forest landowners, loggers, foresters, and other natural resource professionals. Society of American Forester CFE’s (TBA) and SFI Credits (TBA) are available. Please wear outdoor boots and bring a hat and light jacket. The field day will take place rain or shine. Bug spray & pants recommended.

    Northern MI Wildland Fire Training Exchange w/Michigan Prescribed Fire Council

    We’re excited to announce that registration is now open for the Northern Michigan Wildland Fire Training Exchange (TREX).

    TREX events are more than just training—they are immersive, hands-on experiences that build the next generation of wildland fire practitioners while strengthening the broader fire community. Participants gain real-world experience on prescribed fires, work alongside qualified leadership, and have the opportunity to complete critical taskbook assignments under National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG) standards.

    For military and civilian fire practitioners alike, TREX provides a unique environment to build operational capacity, deepen technical skills, and develop leadership under real conditions. Just as importantly, it fosters the relationships, trust, and shared understanding that are essential to safely and effectively implementing fire on the landscape.

    Whether you are new to wildland fire or advancing through qualifications, TREX offers a pathway to grow your experience, contribute to meaningful land management, and be part of a committed and expanding fire culture.
